Skywalker and Malamute: July 25-26

After a lazy start to Sunday, Dani and I drove up to Squamish in the heat! Finally a little bit of summer even if it makes climbing a sweaty challenge. We went up to Shannon falls and went after the new 5p 5.8, Skywalker. There was only one party a couple of pitches up so we started up and away. It was a cool climb, even though there was a couple of awkward moves. The highlight definitely a quick dip in the pools above shannon falls to cool off after climbing.

Traverse!

So cold, yet so good
Today we went back up to Squamish after a bike ride around stanley park. Even though it was wet (apparently it rained sometime?), we went to the malamute and climbed in the crazy heavy wind where it was dry. The Malamute rulesssss, such a good view and position.

Okanagan: July 16-18

Sweet road trip to the Okanagan last weekend with Dani. We camped on her lot on Okanagan lake and got some swimming and storm watching in on the dock. No Ogopogo sightings but we were treated to a gnarly electrical storm one night and we almost got soaked (thanks tarp!). Other than chilling out on the dock we picked up some local produce, explored vernon and checked out the some climbing in Kelowna.

Squamish in July

Start the car!!! Went to Squamish for a week and got alot of climbing in. Started off last week doing diedre with Dani and then finishing it off with the buttress. We finished diedre faster than expected and were about to head down... until we came up with the great idea of climbing to the top! Unfortunately we didn't have any food or water so we had to go fast. Pretty awesome adventure though. After that I stayed in the campsite and climbed with a bunch of people hitting up climbs all over squamish. Capped off the week on wednesday by climbing for 12 hours with my new friend Logan. So awesome getting some hard 5.10's under my belt like climb and punishment in the bluffs, exasperator at the base of the grand, and rainy day dream away and coogee crack in the bulletheads! Can't wait to get back next week when the rain stops.
